To create an animated short film, the workshop should last at least eight to ten hours. The required production time depends on the size and experience of the group as well as the scope of the project. Up to 15 participants can collaborate on a single film project.
According to their interests and abilities, the participants are divided into small production teams. Each team focuses on a specific area of filmmaking, such as directing, character and background design, animation, camera work, editing, or sound and music production.
Ideally, individual participants or groups develop initial ideas for the film a few days before the workshop. I am happy to review scripts, sketches, or storyboards in advance and provide feedback.
At the beginning of the workshop, all proposals are discussed together using storyboards. One idea is then selected and developed into the final film.
Whenever possible, the creators of the selected idea also take on the role of directors. They coordinate the different teams and provide guidance, for example to the designers on how to create a scene or to the animators on how the cut-out characters should be moved frame by frame.
Throughout the entire production process, I support the film crew as a supervisor and mentor, providing guidance and assistance to all participants.
