SMALL TALK

Adventurous interview with a globetrotter

An adventurer causes turbulence in an interview with his extremely vivid descriptions.

The animation film department of the Kassel College of Art produced a 2-minute festival trailer on behalf of the 10th Kassel Documentary Film and Video Fest. The 5-minute pixilation film SMALL TALK was created from the same footage.

My script was chosen from a variety of ideas from the students. So, as the director, producer and production manager, I implemented the two versions of the film with the help of 17 fellow students.

With SMALL TALK I was able to take part in various film festivals, e. g. in the competition of the International Festival of Animated Film in Stuttgart.

The film was shot in pixilation and stop motion. Two students served as actors. They animated their body frame by frame, while 10 other students were responsible for animating the props. The preparations took one week, the animation two weeks and the sound design four weeks.
